Rachel Bianchi, Derek Speck, Nora Gierloff, Stacy Hansen, Brandon <br />Miles, Laurel Humphrey <br />Chair Hougardy called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and asked for consensus to consider the <br />House Bill 1220 item as the second order of business. <br />I. BUSINESS AGENDA <br />A. Lodging Tax Funding Request -Rugby 7s National Championship <br />Staff is seeking Council approval of up to $10,000 for the City of Tukwila to support the Rugby <br />7s National Championship in August 2021. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Unanimous approval. Forward to June 21, 2021 Regular Consent Agenda. <br />B. House Bill 1220 Requirements and Work Plan <br />Staff provided an update on efforts to implement requirements of HB 1220, which limits <br />municipal authority around emergency shelters, transitional housing and permanent <br />supportive housing. Councilmembers discussed a list of policy considerations to forward to <br />the Planning Commission. <br />Item(s) forFollow-up <br />*Add clarifying language that services will be offered to residents, not day visitors. <br />*Add language clarifying that proximity to transit be defined in terms of walkability. <br />*Explore options and definitions for spacing and concentration. <br />Committee Recommendation <br />Discussion only. <br />C. Health through Housing Program <br />Councilmembers continued discussion of the program and agreed that the County should <br />determine if there are any qualified properties for sale in Tukwila before any further <br />discussions can take place. <br />Item(s) forFollow-up <br />*Ask King County to investigate property options with the search concluded and reported back to the <br />City by the end of 2021. <br />
