SE Associates January 27, 2000 Mr. Dave Surson CITY OF TUKWILA BUILDING DEPARTMENT 6300 South Center Blvd., #100 Tukwila, Washington 98188 Subject: Dear Mr. Surson: Sincerely, 99 -c5 1 /37 Special Inspection of Epoxy Anchor Bolts Public Storage, Inc. 15244 Pacific Highway South SeaTac, Washington The site superintendent for the above referenced project, Mr. Jeff Moore of McBride Construction, indicated to us that you questioned the installation of the subject anchor bolts that were installed along the north wall in accordance with our detail dated January 18, 2000, due to the lack of special inspection reports. We have reviewed ICBO Report No. ER -4945 that states that special inspection is required to obtain 100% of the bolt loads listed in the report. Subsequently, we reviewed our calculations which indicate that the design loads are approximately 50% of the bolt values listed in the ICBO report. Based on the following factors; the reduced design loads, a repaired wall length section of approximately 50' which is a portion of the 125' long wall and no tension loads applied to the bolts, it is our opinion that the requested special inspection is not necessary in this application.
