HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-07-03 Regular MinutesJuly 3, 1961 265 The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to order by the aayor, Charles,0. Baker, at 8 :00 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, E. W. Ives, R. K. Doyle and Jerry Hamilton. This being the day and hour set for a public hearing on a petition for annexation Mayor baker read the petition. He stated that the council could not at this time consider this petition, due to legal restrictions, and asked the Council for their pleasure in the matter. After a great deal of discussion, mostly from those not residents of Tukwila, Mr. Doyle moved to table the annexation petition until such time as the Council could legally take it up for consideration, seconded by Mr. Hamilton and carried. The minutes of the Agtrst meeting were read and approved as read. Mr. Zepp presented a report of the Sanitatim School, he attended. Mr. baker read the attached letter to the Council and turned the report over to Mr. hamilton of the Sanitation Committee. Current bills were examined and vouchers of same were signed. Mr. Minkler moved all bills signed by the Finance Committee be paid and warrants drawn for their respective ampunts, seconded by 1'rlr. Ives and carried. Mr. Long reported 2 building permits issued in June Mr. Radford reported on street work to be undertaken in August. Mr. namilton moved Council advertise for bids on same to be opened on Monday, August 7th, ,seconded by +sir. Doyle and carried. -v, .m. Mr. Doyle moved Ordinance No. 331, fixing the rate of charges to be madeffor water used in Fire hydrants, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried. Mr. Ives moved Ord. 331 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Mr. hamilton and carried. Mr. Doyle moved Ord.# 331 be placed on its third reading and final passage, seconded by Mr. hamilton and carried. Mr. Hegel submitted a number of questions to the Council who attempted to answer them. At 9 :55 meeting was continued until Wednesday, July 5, 1961, at 8 :00 p.m.
