ORDINANCE NO. 602 lP O 1112.
AN ORDINANCE relating to and providing for
the acquisition by condemnation of certain
real property in the City of Tukwila for
the improvement of South 144th Street, 58th
Avenue South, South 147th Avenue, 59th Ave-
nue South, South 149th Street, 62nd Avenue
South, South 151st Street, and 65th Avenue
South, and providing the method of payment
for said condemnation.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: THAT PUBLIC NECESSITY AND CONVENIENCE
DEMAND that the City of Tukwila acquire the fee title interest
to property necessary for the improvement of the following
described streets and avenues within the City of Tukwila by
widening and extending, altering and straightening, changing
the grade, constructing slopes or retaining walls, provided that
such acquisition does not extend beyond ten (10) feet from the
existing street right -of -way:
1. South 144th Street from 53rd Avenue South
to 58th Avenue South.
2. 58th Avenue South from Interurban Avenue to
South 147th Street.
3. South 147th Street from 58th Avenue South to
59th Avenue South.
4. 59th Avenue South from South 146th Street to
South 149th Street.
5. 62nd Avenue South from South 149th Street to
South 151st Street.
6. South 151st Street from 62nd Avenue South to
65th Avenue South.
7. 65th Avenue South from South 151st Street to
Renton Three Tree Point Road.
SECTION 2: THAT SUCH ACQUISITION is hereby declared to
be for a public use as a part, addition and betterment to the
Urban Arterial Board's project No. g i and the en-
tire cost of such acquisition shall be paid from the Urban Arterial
Board Fund and /or Forward Thrust Arterial Funds, and /or the
proceeds of general obligation bonds and /or the general fund.
SECTION 3: THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED
and directed to prosecute the actions and proceedings necessary
in the manner provided by law, to condemn, take, damage and
appropriate the lands and other properties necessary to carry
out the provisions of this ordinance.
PASSED by the City Council and approved by the Mayor
