ORDINANCE NO. 597 7
AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating the
issuance by the Chief of Police of licenses
to carry a pistol as provided in RCW Chapter
9.41.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN
as follows:
Section 1. Any person applying to the Chief of
Police of the City of Tukwila pursuant to RCW 9.41.070 for a
license to carry a pistol concealed on his person shall file
with the Chief of Police, on a form to be provided by him, an
application in writing which shall include the following infor-
mation and material:
(1) Name and address of the applicant.
(2) The applicant's citizenship and age.
(3) A statement whether the applicant:
(a) has ever been convicted in any court of
a crime punishable by imprisonment for
a term exceeding one year, or is at the
time of such application under indictment
for or charged by information, with, any
such crime;
(b) is a fugitive from justice;
(c) is an unlawful user of or addicted to
marihuana or any depressant or stimulant
or narcotic drug;

(d) has ever been adjudicated as a mental
defective or committed to any mental
institution;
(e) has ever been adjudicated as a common or
habitual drunk.
(4) A photograph of the applicant, taken within
sixty days immediately prior to the date of filing of the appli-
cation, which shall be 2" by 2" showing the head and shoulders
of the applicant in a clear and distinguishing manner.
(5) The applicant's fingerprints.
(6) A statement of the applicant's reasons for de-
siring such license including such factual information as the
Chief of Police shall find reasonably necessary to effectuate
the purpose of, and determine compliance with, this ordinance
and RCW Chapter 9.41.
Section 2. Upon receipt of such application and after
investigation of the information stated therein and such other
investigation as the Chief of Police shall find reasonably
necessary to effectuate the purpose of, and determine compliance
with, this ordinance and RCW Chapter 9.41, the Chief of Police
shall within thirty (30) days after the filing of such applica-
tion issue a license to such person to carry a pistol concealed
on his person for the purposes of protection or while engaged
in business, sport or while traveling within this state for
such period of time not more than one year as shall be requisite
for the purpose for which such license is issued; provided, that
the Chief of Police shall not issue a license to any person who
the Chief of Police reasonably believes:

(1) is ineligible to own or possess a firearm
under the ordinances of the City of Tukwila, or the laws of
the State of Washington, or of the United States.
(2) has made any false statement of fact in such
application;
(3) has failed to state in such application sufficient
facts evidencing that such license is in fact sought for the
purposes of protection or while engaged in business, sport or
while traveling; or
(4) would, by reason of physical disability, defect
or incapacity, or otherwise, in the carrying of such pistol
constitute a substantial danger to the public safety.
