256, 179, 3S6 and 481

ORDINANCE NO. 579 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE UNIFORM BUILDING
CODE, 1967 Edition and REPEALING ORDINANCE
256, 179, 356 and 481
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That certain documents, three copies of which

are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila
being marked and designated as "Uniform Building Code, Volume 1,
1967 Edition, by the International Conference of Building Officials,"
and "Uniform Building Code, Volume II- Mechanical, 1967 Edition, by
the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials
and the International Conference of Building Officials are hereby
adopted as the building code of the City of Tukwila for regulating
the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving,
removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height,
area, and maintenance of all buildings and /or structures in the City
of Tukwila; providing for issuance of permits and collection of
fees therefor; providing penalties for violation of such code;
declaring and establishing fire zones; and each and all of the
regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of such
"Uniform Building Code, Volume 1 and 2, 1967 Edition" on file in
the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and
made a part hereof as though fully set forth in this ordinance.
Section 2. Section 202(d) of the Uniform Building Code is
hereby deleted and in its place the following will apply:
Except in emergency situations the building official or his duly
authorized representatives shall not enter any building, structure,
or premises in the City without the consent of the owner or occupant
thereof, unless he possesses a reasonable search warrant authorizing
entry and search of the premises.
Section 3. Section 301 (b) of the Uniform Building Code, 1967 p
Edition is hereby amended to include the following:

8. The expressed written consent of the applicant giving the
building official or his duly authorized representative permission
to enter upon any building, structure or premises in the City to
perform any duty imposed upon him by this Code.
Section 4. The following ordinances are hereby repealed:
Ordinance 179, adopted February 2, 1948.
Ordinance 256, adopted February 10, 1958.
Ordinance 356, adopted February 19, 1962.
Ordinance 481, adopted May 1, 1967.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Tukwila,
Washington and APPROVED by the Mayor this mho.(' day of 3_ 1969.
