The purpose of this Council Work Session was to review and discuss a matrix of comments and
questions regarding proposed 2013 changes to the Comprehensive Plan for the 2015 Growth
Management Update.
Introduction
In advance of this meeting, staff compiled a matrix of questions and comments received by
Councilmembers and others during and after the July 30 and 31 work sessions and the August
12 public hearing. Council President Hougardy indicated that in the interest of time,
Councilmembers would review the matrix for each of the six elements, approve line items by
unanimous consent, and flag specific items that will require more detailed review. Following is a
list of those line items that were identified to be set aside.
Shoreline: None
Natural Environment: Lines 17-21, 32
Southcenter/Tukwila Urban Center: Lines 12-13, 15-16, 18
Utilities: Lines 2-6
Capital Facilities: Lines 8, 12-13, 25, 29
Transportation: Lines 5, 10, 12, 14
General Comments: None (Note that Council President Hougardy indicated that Lines 4
and 5 pertaining to healthy/local food policies and school impact fees, respectively, will
be taken up in a different context for policy direction.)
Next Steps
The Council President and Council Analyst will work with DCD staff on the scheduling ofa
follow-up meeting to review and discuss the items mentioned above.
