Training Bay
In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please
note the following items:
1. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed
areas. (Including under stairs)
All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by
companies licensed to perform this type of
work. Drawings shall first be approved by
the Washington Survey & Rating Bureau, then
by the Tukwila Fire Dept. No work shall
commence without approved drawings.
2. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b) "All doors in or
leading to exits shall be maintained openable
from the inside without the use of a key or
any special knowledge or effort at all times
when the building or area served thereby is
occupied."
3. Per UFC Sec. .10.113, "At every required exit
doorway, and wherever otherwise required to
clearly indicate the direction of egress, an exit
sign with letters at least 6 inches high and
readily distinguishable shall be maintained."
4. Fire extinguishers shall .be provided per NFPA #10,
as a minimum requirement.
One dry chemical extinguisher rated 2 -A, 10 B -C
is required.

mentioned project.

SUBJECT: REVIEW OF BUILDING PERMIT REQUEST FOR N.C. MACHINERY TRAINING BAY
I have tried to review several applications for building permits recently
that are not complete. In most cases the use is not the question. The
adequacy of the parking is my primary concern. When an application is
accepted that does not have a site plan with the parking included, I can -
not review the project for compliance with Section 18 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code. It is not realistic for me to make a decision based on
'assumptions. Therefore, I cannot respond to building permit request for
the training bay for N.C. Machinery.
