Remodel(Prelim.)
In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please
note the following items:
1. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "A11 doors in or
leading to exits shall be maintained open -
able from the inside without the use of a
key or any special knowledge or effort at
all times when the building or area served
thereby is occupied."
2. Per UFC Sec. 10.113, "At every required exit
doorway, and wherever otherwise required to
clearly indicate the direction of egress,
an exit sign with letters at least 6 inches
high and readily distinguishable shall be
maintained. "(Lighted signs - 3 places)
3. A sign, per Sec. 3301 of the UBC, shall be
posted at or near the main entrance, stating
the occupant load.
4. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed
areas.
All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by
companies licensed to perform this type of work.
Drawings shall first be approved by the Washing-
ton Survey & Rating Bureau, then by the Tukwila
Fire Dept. No work shall commence without
approved drawings.
5. Fire extinguisher type, quantity and placement
shall be per NFPA #10,
6. All interior wall covering materials shall be
fire - resistive or shall be treated to be fire-
resistive, so as to result in a Flame- Spread
Rating of at least Class III (Class II for Exit -
ways). A certificate of Flame- Spread Rating
is required to be delivered to the Fire Dept.
