Parkway Plaza
In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note
the following items:
1. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "All doors in or lead-
ing to exits shall be maintained openable from
the inside without the use of a key or any
special knowledge or effort at all times when
the building or area served thereby is occupied."
2. Per UFC Sec. 10.113, "At every required exit
doorway, and wherever otherwise required to
clearly indicate the direction of egress, an
exit sign with letters at least 6 inches high
and readily distinguishable shall be maintained."
3. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed
areas. (Includes under balconies)
All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by
companies licensed to perform this type of work.
Drawings shall first be approved by the Washing-
ton Survey & Rating Bureau, then by the Tukwila
Fire Dept. No work shall commence without
approved drawings.
4. Maintain hose station coverage per City Ordinance
#730.
5. Fire extinguishers shall be provided per NFPA #10,
as a minimum requirement.
Install one 215 gallon pressurized water unit, and
two "All- Purpose" dry - chemical units.
6. Per NFPA requirements, extinguishers with a gross
weight of 40 pounds or less shall be hung so
that the top of the extinguisher is not higher
than 60 inches above the floor. Extinguishers
weighing more than 40 pounds, shall be hung so
that the top of the unit is not higher than 42
inches abo a the floor.

Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in
plain view (if at all possible). If not in
plain view, they shall be, identified with a
sign stating, "FIRE EXTINGUISHER" with an arrow
Pointing.
• All interior wall covering materials shall be
fire- resistive or shall be treated to be fire-
resistive, so as to result in a Flame- Spread
Rating of at least Class III (Class II for
Exit- ways). A certificate of Flame- Spread Rating
is required to be delivered to the Fire Dept.
