Re: Fiberchem Addition
In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note
the following:
1. All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by
companies licensed to perform this type of
work. Drawings shall first be approved by
the Washington Survey & Rating Bureau, then
by the Tukwila Fire Dept. No work shall
commence without approved drawings.
(Extra- Hazard for rear storage dock)
Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed
areas. (Includes under -stair area)
2. Hose stations are required per City Ordiance #730.
3. Exit quantity appears inadequate.
4. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "All doors in or leading
to exits shall be maintained openable from the
inside without the use of a key or any special
knowledge or effort at all times when the build -
ing or area served thereby is occupied."
5. Per UFC Sec. 10.113, "At every required exit door-
way, and wherever otherwise required to clearly
indicate the direction of egress, an exit sign
with letters at least 6 inches high and readily
distinguishable shall be maintained."
6. Fire extinguishers shall be provided per NFPA #10
as a minimum requirement.
Install two 22 gallon pressurized water units and
three 2A -10 B:C "All- Purpose" dry - chemical units.

Per NFPA requirements, extinguishers with a
gross weight of 40 pounds or less shall be hung
so that the top of the extinguisher is not higher
than 60 inches above the. floor. Extinguishers
weighing more than 40 pounds, shall be hung so
that the top of the unit is not higher than 42
inches above the floor.
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in
plain view (if at all possible). If not in plain
view, they shall be identified with a sign stating,
"FIRE EXTINGUISHER" with an arrow pointing.
....Protective guard posts or curbs are required
around all gas meters, electrical vaults, sprinkler
valves and hydrants..
