Crawley Fire Chief Fire Prevention Bureau April 13, 1979 Re: Air Lab In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note the following: 1. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "All doors in or lead- ing to exits shall be maintained openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort at all times when the building or area served thereby is occupied." 2. Per UFC Sec. 10.113, "At every required exit doorway, and wherever otherwise required to clearly indicate the direction of egress, an exit sign with letters at least 6 inches high and readily distinguishable shall be maintained." 3. Walls to be fire stopped per UBC Sec. 2517(f). 4 . Fire extinguishers shall be provided per NFPA #10, as a minimum requirement. 5. Provide sprinkler protection for the paint booth. (UFC Sec. 14.208(a). 6. No explanation of the intended operation or build- ing contents is reflected on the permit applica- tion. Have the tenant or building owner provide the Fire Dept. with a description of the operation and contents. Please include these comments in your review of the above mentioned project.
