Our office has received and reviewed Sheet R -3, dated 5 November
1979, which was submitted in response to my letter to you of 29 October
1979. Sheet R -3 satisfies the concerns expressed in that correspon-
dence; consequently, the Planning Division has completed its review
of this proposal as of today, and has returned the application to
the Building Official for further processing.
Questions relative to the remaining sequence of the Building Permit
Review Procedure should be directed to the Building Division staff.

Our office has completed review of your building permit application, unfortunately,
we cannot approve the plan set as submitted due to an apparent discrepancy between
required off - street parking and the number of spaced provided for that purpose.
Tukwila Municipal Code Section 18,56.160 requires off - street provision of parking
for structures or portions thereof occupied as offices at a ratio of 3.1 spaces/
1,000 sq. ft. of gross floor area. T.M.C. Section 18.56.180 requires one space/
1,000 sq. ft. G.F.A. for industrial building occupancy; On the basis of your plan
set, dated 24 August 1979, and according to our department records, we derive the
following parking analysis for the total site:

In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note
the following items:
1. Per UFC Section 10.104(B), "All doors in or
leading to exits shall be maintained openable
from the inside without the use of a key or
any special knowledge or effort at all times
when the building or area served :hereby is
occupied ".
2. Per UFC Section 10.113, "At every required
exit doorway, and wherever otherwise required
to clearly indicate the direction of egress,
an exit sign with letters at least six inches
high and readily distinguishable shall be
maintained ".
3. Walls to be fire stopped per UBC Section 2517(F).
4. Fire dampers required per UBC Standard #43 -7,
(if applicable). ( In one & two hour walls)
5, Maintain hose station coverage per City Ordinance #730
6. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed
areas. - Sprinkler protection for the polyurethane
room and the garnetting room to be designed as,
"EXTRA - HAZARD" classification.
7. Fire extinguisher type, quantity and placement
shall be per NFPA #10.
8. If it is anticipated that trash dumpsters are
to be kept in the building sprinkler protection
in those areas shall be re- inforced with, "EXTRA
HAZARD" protection. Otherwise, dumpsters shall
be kept outside of the building.

9. All interior wall covering materials shall be
fire - resistive or shall be treated to be fire
resistive, so as to result in, a flame - spread
rating of at least Class III (Class II for exit
ways) A certificate of the flame- spread rating
is required to be delivered to the fire department.
Any and all operations involving the generation
of loose dust or fibers shall be equipped with
an approved dust- collection system, designed and
installed per NFPA Standard #91.
Please include these comments in your review of the above
mentioned. project.
