Dear Mr. Piepers:
We are writing to confirm the phone conversation of today
regarding the requirement of fire sprinklers on this project.
In talking with the architect, he has informed me that the
main change to the prints that you now have will be tollower
the wall height of the concrete dividing wall between areas
B and C. The 30" parapet will be eliminated. Other than
this there will be only slight cosmetic changes made to the
exterior of the building.
I understand that there will be no letter of commitment
needed from a sprinkler company, but that no certificate of
occupancy will be issued until the sprinklers have been
installed. I also understand that there will be no re
submittal required for this change.
Thank you for your promptness in pointing out the requirement
for a sprinkler. If we can be of any further assistance
please contact us.

Chairman Xirspp and Commissioner Richards both questioned the useability f some
of the parking spaces indicated along the east elevation.
Lance Mueller, architect, explained that the Commission required more spates .
oriented to this:portion of the building and this is the only my in which to

Motion by Mr. Richards, seconded by Mrs. Avery and carried to approve the revised
plans with the following stipulations:

Per UFC Sec. 10.113, At every required
exit doorway, and wherever otnerwise required
to clearly indicate the direction of egress,
an exit sign with letters at least 6 inches
high and readily distinguishable shall be
maintained".
2. An automatic fire extingu!sning (sprinkler)
system is required and shall be installed,
designed and tested per City Ordinance #730.
(Please note this ordinance is a separate
requirement from the UBC)
3. Fire hydrants are required as detailed in
City Ordinance #729.
Fire extinguisher type, quantity and placement
shall be per NFPA T:=10.
5 Protective guard posts or curbs are required
around all gas meters, electrical vaults,
sprinkler valves and hydrants.
