Where plans are incomplete, or changed so as to require additional plan
checking, an additional plan -check fee shall be charged at a rate estab-
lished by the Building Official.
(c) Expiration of Plan Check. Applications for which no permit is
issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by
limitation and plans submitted for checking may thereafter be returned to
the applicant or destroyed by the Building Official. The Building Official
may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding
180 days upon written request by the applicant showing that circumstances
beyond the control of the applicant have prevented action from being
taken. In order to renew action on an application after expiration, the ap-
plicant shall resubmit plans and pay a new plan -check fee.
(d) Reinspection Fee. The fee for each reinspection shall be $10.00.

Sec. 304. (a) General. All construction or work for which a permit is
required shall be subject to inspection by the Building Official, and certain
types of construction shall have continuous inspection by special inspec-
tors, as specified in Section 305.
A survey of the lot may be required by the Building Official to verify
compliance of the structure with approved plans.

GENERAL
Definitions
Where the word "Owner" appears in these specifications it shall
mean Boeing Engineering and Construction Company.
Where the word "Austin" appears in these specifications it shall
mean The Austin Company.
Scope
Labor and materials will be furnished for the design and con-
struction of the work as shown on the drawings listed on the
title sheet and as described in these specifications.
Materials will be new unless otherwise noted.
Work will be in accordance with requirements of Underwriters'
and governing bodies. If, at any time during the course of the
work the requirements are changed and affect final approval,
then this work shall alter the scope and adjust the costs of the
work.
Items and work indicated as being furnished or performed by the
Owner and are included in the cost of the work.
Work required to bring the existing facility into compliance with
current regulations of governing bodies is not included in the .
cost of the work.
Owner will obtain and pay for the building permit. Austin to
accompany Owner to building department for purposes of assisting
in obtaining building permits.
Occupancy certification required by governing bodies will be
obtained by Owner.
The facility will be delivered in a broom -clean condition.
Glass will be cleaned upon completion of the building.

A. REMOVALS
1. Remove and dispose of 480 SF of stud and plywood temporary
offices.
2. Break out existing stud partition for new borrowed lights.
3. Cutting and patching as required for the installation of
new services.
B. FLOOR COVERING
1. Existing concrete shall be cleaned and receive vinyl asbes-
tos floor tile or carpet except rooms with elevated floor
panels, M.G. Room and the loading dock area.
2. Elevated Floor Panels shall be Donn Products, Severens Model
50," panels 2 ft. square set 12" high, and surfaced with
swirl gray "Micarta."
3. A vinyl asbestos tile surfaced plywood and wood joist
ramps shall be provided in Con -Ed and Software Devel-
opment Areas.
4. Commercial grade carpeting to be provided in the following
areas:
(a) West 33' of Records Area (Lock lift or adhesively
applied)
(b) All floor area of Expansion Area to be removable (to
accommodate for future raised floors).
C. PARTITIONS
1. All partitions shall consist of painted, taped, and sparkled.
5/8" gypsum wallboard on 2x6 wood studs as shown on drawings.
Corridor partitions shall be one -hour rated.
2. Existing perimeter walls and partitions shall be touched up
and painted below new ceiling level except in loading dock
area.
3. M.G. Room partitions shall be insulated for sound attenua-
tion, to a level per OSHA and local codes.
D. DOOR AND RELIGHTS
1. All swing doors shall be painted, solid core wood doors,
3 ft. x 7 ft. x 1 -3/4 ", or as shown on plan, set in wood
jambs. Hardware shall be Boeing standard.

"2. All pairs of doors shall receive a removable wood transom
18 inches high over the doors.
3. Painted 9 ft. x 12 ft. sliding wood doors of plywood and
dimension wood construction shall be provided in the North
wall of the Con -Ed Room and North wall of Expansion Room.
4. All swinging doors at utility cabinets shall be painted hol-
low core wood doors set in wood jambs.
5. Relights shall consist of 1/4" wire glass set in painted
metal frames, or as required to meet one -hour rating.
E. CEILINGS
1. All new finished rooms except loading dock area shall
receive a 2 ft. x 4 ft. acoustical tile (rigid fiberglass or
similar) ceiling set in exposed metal tee bars suspended
from a primary support grid. Ceiling height shall be 13
ft. in shop, shop storage, and Expansion Areas and 12 ft. in
rooms with elevated floors.
2. The corridor ceiling shall be a gypsum board ceiling on
wood joist and carry a one -hour fire rating. Ceiling
height shall be 11 ft. clear.
3. A primary ceiling support grid will be installed above
the acoustical ceiling areas to support the ceiling
grid, duct work, and sprinkler lines. Additional steel
pipe columns will be added as shown on the drawings. The
grid will consist of 2x6 joists or metal channels at 4 ft.
o.c. on wood framing truss, 8 ft. o.c., on steel or wood
beams to existing or new pipe columns.
F. MECHANCIAL
1. Air conditioning will be provided in the Con -Ed, Expansion,
and SDL Areas to maintain 74°F. with 89°F. dry bulb/
69°F. wet bulb outside in summer with minimum outside air,
per ASHAE, an occupancy load of 50 people, lighting load
of 3 watts /SF and process load of 10 W /SF and all doors
and windows closed. No humidity control is provided.
2. Heating will be provided in the Con -Ed, Records, Shop,
Storage, and SDL Areas to maintain 68'F. with 20'F. out-
side in winter with minimum outside air, per ASHAE, and
all doors and windows closed. Maintain 65'F. in record
storage area. No humidity control is provided.
3. No plumbing is included.

'G.''FIRE PROTECTION
1. Fire Protection in enclosed areas will be provided by
an ordinary hazard /closed head /pre- action sprinkler
system with ionization detector alarm and delayed pre -
action water valve. Water flow switch and conduit to
ADT panel will be provided, switch per ADT specifications.
Sprikler system shall be a hydraulically calculated
welded pipe system.
2. Ionization detectors will be located in enclosed space
and under raised floor, with provisions for future
connection to Expansion Area.
3. It is assumed that an adequate water supply and pressure
exists in building.
4. Fire dampers in ductwork will be provided where required.
H. ELECTRICAL
1. A general overhead lighting system shall be provided to
maintain 80 FC using flush fluorescent 2 ft. x 4 ft.
troffers in acoustical ceilinged areas and 50 FC using
surface - mounted fluorescent fixtures in the corridor.
Existing lighting will remain in the dock area.
2. Approximately seventy standard duplex receptacles and
approximately 110 special purpose outlets shall be pro-
vided and located per client's direction in addition
to item #8. (Verify client layout).
3. Special 1/4" x 2" copper grounding bar (720') shall be
provided under the raised EDP floors including Expansion
Area, and shall be grounded by 17 ground rods 10'0" long.
4. Five receptacle panels and one load center shall be pro-
vided for special M.G. regulated power and for DC power
to the Con -Ed, Expansion, and the Software Dev. Areas.
5. One AC power M.G. sets and two DC Power 125 VDC-
Power rectifiers shall be furnished to the jobsite by
the client, installed and connected by the contractor.
6. A special emergency -off push- button system shall be pro-
vided for all power (except lighting) to the Con -Ed,
Expansion, and Software Development Areas.
7. Approximately seventeen telephone wall outlets,shall be
provided.
8. Ceiling drop cords, or plugmold shall be provided in
Records Room, as shown on Owner layout.
9. Temporary use of Expansion Area will be office space,
provide convenience outlets per Owner layout.
