Re: Perkin -Elmer Corp.
In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please
note the following items:
1. Fire dampers required per UBC Standard
#43 -7 (if applicable).
2. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "All doors in or
leading to exits shall be maintained open
able from the inside without the use of a
key or any special knowledge or effort at
all times when the building or area served
thereby is occupied."
Per UFC Sec. 10,113, "At every required exit
doorway, and wherever otherwise required to
clearly indicate the direction of egress, an
exit sign with letters at least 6 inches high
and readily distinguishable shall be maintained."
4, Sprinkler system required in Seminar & storage
area.
All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by
companies licensed to perform this type of work.
Drawings shall first be approved by the Wash-
ington Survey & Rating Bureau, then by the
Tukwila Fire Dept. No work shall commence without
approved drawings.
5. Fire extinguisher type, quantity and placement
shall be per NFPA #10.
Install one 21 gallon pressurized water unit
and one 2A =10 B:C "A11- Purpose" dry chemical
units.

Per NFPA requirements, extinguishers with a
gross Weight of 40 pounds or less shall be
hung so that the top of the extinguisher is
not higher than 60 inches above the floor.
Extinguishers weighing more than 40 pounds,
shall be hung so that the top of the unit is
not higher than 42 inches above the floor.
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be
in plain view (,if at all possible). If not
in plain view, they shall be identified with
a sign stating, "FIRE EXTINGUISHER" with
an arrow pointing,
