In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note the following items: 1. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "All doors in or leading to exits shall be maintained open- able from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort at all times when the building or area served thereby is occupied." 2, Per UFC Sec. 10.113, "At every required exit doorway, and wherever otherwise required to clearly indicate the direction of egress, an exit sign with letters at least 6 inches high and readily distinguishable shall be maintained," Walls to be fire stopped per UBC Sec. 2517(f). Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas, All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by companies licensed to perform this type of work. Drawings shall first be approved by the Washing- ton Survey & Rating Bureau, then by the Tukwila Fire Dept. No work shall commence without approved drawings. 5, Fire extinguisher type, quantity and placement shall be per NFPA #10. Please include these comments in your review of the above mentioned project. These correc- tions are: 1. Change sprinkler head to 265° in front of space heater, second floor, southwest corner. 2. Install exit signs in second floor classroom and halls. 3. Install sprinkler protection to dumbwaiter shafts. 4. Need fire extinguishers, second floor (square footage ?). 5. Add sprinkler head to hot water heater room in women's rest- room and plug core hole between floors. . Install sprinkler protection to darkroom.
