BACKGROUND Currently, electrical roadway illurr inaticn expenditures for the City of Tukwila are as high as $190,000 each year. The latest acvarces in roadway LED Ilighlting technology can reduce power consumption far lighting fixtures by rearly 50%, whine providing more reliability and longer life to the fixtures. Additionally, lhe cost of LED fixtures has been sleacily reduced cver the years and is now only 20% higher than traditional lighting fixtures. This purchase will be the 4t" phase of our LED streetlight conversion. We should expect 10 see lower utility costs and reduced maintenance calls as we continue to convert the older lighting fixtures which are on metered accourts throughout the City. The 2013 Street Fund 000.16 and 104 Fund's Anrual Traffic Signal Prcgrams have remainirg balances That could be utilized for the LED purchase. Based or past performance and a slate contract product listing, we chcose to stay with Lectek Electronics and purchase through Consolidated electric distributcrs to situp ify the process through Washington State Contract #00313.
