A regular Meeting of the Town Council was held on the above date at Forester's Hall in the Town of Tukwila, meeting being called to order 'by the Mayor at hour of 8;00 o'clock P.M. There were present; Joel Shomaker, M a y o r, J. M. Hall, J.W.Wilson, Del Adelphia, Jno.f.Hopkins and F.W.Johansen, Councilmen. Minutes of the last meeting read and approved, The Mayor deliv erdd a short address on the condition of the Town in general; stated t?a t improvements had been made -and were under way of completion, worth at least, to the general appearance of the Town, and its desirability as a residence place, etc., the sum of $5000.00. He--also made seveialrecommendations to the Council, in the way of a judicious expenditure of money, etc. .Reports of Committees: J.M. Hall, Chairman of Committee on Laws and Ordinances reported that there was no necessity of an ordinance for the platting of Summit View Addition, and it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that we accept the plat as proposed. Wilson moves, and it was unanimously carried that we get the L =Town Marshal a Badge and Stick. Clerk instructed to provide the marshal 0 ith same. Mr...Wilson asks for a disposition of dogs which the marshal might arre st and for which no license is paid, and after some discussion it d`ev_eloped that there was ample provision made for the disposition of sahese matters in the general laws. P_ Mr. Adelphia reports on Streets and Ailleys: In re Kinney Bou1e- =vard he stated that the improvements ordered had been completed, ,He.also` stated that the Depot at this place, owing to some person or p ersons unknown having committed nuisances therein, and also that some �.oe:.:had broken out a light of glass. It was finally brder_ed by the Counc.£1 that the Marshal replace the broken light of glass, and that. he post a notice imposing a fine of $5.00 on any person committing a nui- sance in or about the place. `Mr.: Chairman of Parks Cemeteries, reports that Mr. Robbins :has offered a piece of ground suitable for a cemetery for the Town of 'Tukwila. Mr. Adelphia considers it a private matter and suggests that =we have a Cemetery of our own, and makes the motion, which was seconded and carried, that Mr. Hopkins see the County Commissioners in connec- tion with the matter and try and arrange for a cemetery to be located !somewhere within the confines the Town of .Tukwila. Mr. Adelphia reports claim of Mr. J.L.Shepard for damages to his house and property by reason of an accident in blasting a sturAp .on Kinney Boulevard. It developed during a long discussion between Mr. Adelphia, Mr. Wilson and the Superintendent of Streets that a large stump -was blasted, close to Mr. Shepard's lot line, whic h'the Chairman :of the Committee on Streets and Alleys had advised should be "passed up as being dangerous to the adjacent property; but Mr. Shepard, desiring the stump to be removed, and sanctioning the removing by the use of powder, Mr. Shepard digging the hole under the stump in which to place the powder, the said stump was finally blown up with a charge of powder, resulting in serious damage to Mr. Shepard's house and fence. Mr. Shepard placed the damage at anywhere from $15.00 to 30.00, but Mr. Adelphia recommended that he be allowed x;10.00, and felt satisfied, under the circumstances,that he would be contented with that amount. A short talk from Mr. Milbolland on the merits of the plant Mr. Wilson asked that the Clerk find out just when the school election is to be held.
