Be Aware. Look around you, notice your surroundings, make eye contact with people, and keep your phone handy. Trust your safety instincts. If you see something wrong, even if youre not sure, move to a safe place and call 911. No concern about your safety is too small. Be Patient.You may encounter heavy traffic; dont enter an intersection until it is clear to go all the way through. Also, dont park illegally- even for a minute. If confronted by a hostile driver, please continue to be safe and call 911 if you feel threatened. Horns and angry hand gesturesusually just increase hostility. Be Suspicious. Anyone that approaches you in a parking lot and offers a deal th seems too good to be true may be up to no-good. Also, if inclined to help someone that appears to be in need, take a moment to make sure they arent ruGiving to a known charity is often a better idea. Unfortunately, many use the holidays to prey on the best qualities in people. Protect Valuables. Hiding items often doesnt deter theft. Phone/GPS mounts and chargers may signal that those devises are hidden in the car. You may be watched as you place your new items in your car then return to your shoppin. Consider calling it a day after you put your new items in your car.
