Be sure background is clean and dry before applying letters. 2. Determine proper location on building of each fetter from template or sketch. 3. Adjust perforated pads to allow a minimum of V8 " projection from back of letters to wall. 4. Apply a blob of adhesive the size of a walnut to perforated pads. 5. Quickly placg letter in proper location on wall exerting slight twisting motion. Apply equal pressure to all perforated pads until adhesive Is approximately 1 /6" thick. 6. To prevent letters from slipping before adhesive has set firmly, tape letters to the wall with strips of masking tape. Caution Remove tape within 24 hours. Longer exposure to ultra - violet light may make removal of tape impossible. Do not use masking tape over gold. NOTE: B -1 mounting is not recommended for letters over 24" In height or for use on painted backgrounds.. Type B -4 —Flush Mounting —For illuminated letters only For individually lighted letters, where back of panel is accessible, letters may be flush mounted with studs and nuts. For non - Illuminated letters use 13-2. Specify panel thickness, Not available for prismatic or round face letters. Type 8 -9-- Keyhole Mounting Available in sizes 9" and larger, without extra charge, on all flat face letters such as Futura, Gothic, and Venus styles. Available on all round face and prismatic face styles at 25% additional to Group "B" prices listed. .• • • • Type B -1 -X (Pat, No. 3,063,199) B -1 -X mounting is a more positive version of B -1 mounting as described above. Method Is the same as B -1 except that one perforated pad at top of letter is furnished with bolt projecting through, which is embedded into cement in hole drilled into the background. This relieves the weight of the letter and prevents slippage while the adhesive is curing. This method gives a more positive mounting and will eliminate the necessity of using masking tape, which requires a second trip to the job to remove the tape. • 6 • Type B -7— Non - Illuminated Letters • • • 6 For flush or projected mounting to masonry, r- ' ) drill 3 /e" hole 11/2" deep and fill with Tuff -Bond or G.E.
