Home My WebLink About1909-01-12 Regular Minutes Tukwila, Washington, January 12th 1909 After the adjournment of the last meeting of the old Council, the first Meeting of the New Council was immediately called to order. The following Officers and Members of the Council having been regularly elected and qualified, were sworn in in due and regular form and at once entered upon their respective duties: Mayor Joel Shomaker Councilmen: J.M.Hall, Del Adelphia., J.W. Wilson, Frank W. Johansen and J. G. Hopkins. Treasurer, E. W. Engel, The Mayor made a short address, which appears following'these minutes. The first order of business was the appointment by the Mayon.° of the following Committees for the year 1909. Ways and ?deans, Hall, Adelphia Hopk"int _F Laws Ordinances, Hall, Wilson Johansen.:' Streets and Alleys Wilson Town Property Wilson ,Hall ,Johansen Churches 8c Schools-- Hopkins Hall Adelphia�*y Parks Cemeteries Hopkins Adelphia *Wilson.. Railroads Transportation Adelphia,WilsonHopkino._` Aiditing &.Claims Adelphia,Hall,Johansen°. Fire Water Johansen,Adelphia,Hall', Sewers Drainage Johansen,Wilson,Adelphia Upon Petitions signed by representative citizens and takpayera of :the Town of Tukwila, the Mayor made the following appointments•! Clerk, Be F, Greene Attorney, C. C. Dalton, Marshal H. 11. Myers, Health Officer Dr. Francis H. Brown, Police Magistrate E. F. Parker, which appointments were immediately ratified by the Council. The next oi: f business was the deciding by,Lot, who of the w Councilmen sho no fice for One Year, and Who fiwo Years, and the decision arrived at by this means, was as follows: One Year: Del Adelphia, J. G. Hopkins, and J. Ii. Hall. Two Years: J. W. Wilson and Frank W. Johansen, By a unanimous vote, th salaries of the various officers, to- gether with the amount' of thF-bond to be given by-each were €fixed: as follows:" Clerk: Salary, $120.00 per year, Bond $500:00,_ Marshal, 80.00 a a a 500,00.= Treasurer 25.00 500.40:- Police Judge 5009U Attorney. 150.00 Tke salaries as above to be paid monthly.
