FIRE DEPARTMENT CITY of TUKWILA 444 ANDOVER PARK EAST TUKWILA, WASHINGTON 98188 TELEPHONE: (206) 244 -7221 In reviewing the above mentioned project pians,please note the following items: 1. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed areas. All sprinkler drawings shall be prepared by companies licensed to perform this type of work. Drawings shall first be approved by the Washington Survey & Rating Bureau, then by the Tukwila Fire Dept. No work shall commence without•approved drawings. Hose stations are required per City Ordinance #730. Fire extinguisher type, quantity and placemen• shall be per NFPA #10. Insure that adequate „electrical service:(receptaaies) is installed.' This will help eliminate the future illegal use of extension cords or Other unapproved devices. 5. Flammable or combustible liquids in excess of ten . gallons total, must be stored in metal storage cabinets. No more than 50 gallons may be stored in any one cabinet . and no container shall be larger than 5 gallons. Cabinets ,shall be identified with 3 inch high red letters stating, "FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS NO SMOKING ".. Cabinets must be ventilated. Flammable and combustible liquids in excess of 240 gallons, total shall be stored in a flammable liquid ' storage room designed and Constructed per Section, 15. 404 of the Uniform Fire Code. Fire Prevention Bureau approval granted, as noted, providing all requirements of the Uniform Building Code for the intended class of occupancy are met. No explanation of the intended operation or build - ing contents is reflected on the permit application. Have the tenant or building owner provide the Fire Dept. with a description of the operation and the. contents. Insure that flame spread rating of cedar wall covering does not exceed Class III per UBC & UFC ratings. Please include these comments in your review of the above mentioned project.
