Fire extinguishers shall be provided per NFPA #10, as a minimum requirement... Per OSHA requirements, extinguishers with a gross weight of 40 pounds or less shall be hung so that the top of the extinguisher is not higher than 60 . inches above the floor.. Extinguishers weighing more than 40 pounds, shall be hung so that the . top of the unit is not higher than 42 inches above the floor.
