Description of Incident
On 12-7-13 at 7:30, Tukwila Police Officers were dispatched to a report of an armed
robbery in progress at the Cash & Carry store. An employee called 911 to report that a
masked man armed with a pistol was inside attemptingto rob the store.
Officers arrived quickly and surrounded the store. As the man came out, still armed
with a gun, shots were fired. The suspect was hit by gunfire; no officers or bystanders
were injured.
Officers rendered first aid until medics arrived and declared the man deceased.
Detectives from the Valley Investigation Team, a multi-agency officer involved shooting
team, are onscene investigating the incident. Per our normal operating procedures, the
involved officers will be on administrative leaveuntil cleared to return to duty.
