HomeMy WebLinkAbout1908-07-28 Special Minutes Special Meeting of the Tovm Council, Tukwila, Washington, July 28th, 1908. Meeting opened by the Mayor at the hour of 8 o'clock P.M. Present: Joel Shomaker, Mayor. R.H.Heath, J.M.Hall, J.W,Wilson, Jno.O.Wold, Councilmen. The Committee appointed by the Mayor at the last meeting, to investigate A.C.Perg's Plat, reported favorably on his petition Capon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously decided to accept his plat, and the clerk was ordered to proceed in accordance therewith. Ordinance No. 4, entitled "an ordinance regulating -the manner and form of making, approving and filing plats within the Town of W wila which was brought. before the Council at its last meeting, was passed by the Council on-its second reading, and approved in due -fo rm. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the :Town Council decided -to take action in the matter of a school district, by a committee consisting of the Mayor and Town Council and other Town officers, as may be able to accompany them, going to and waiting upon'the County Superintendent of Schools, and demanding of him the :creation of a new and independent school district, and presenting to him "the petition of -the citizens of Tukwila praying for such independ= -ent district. The Matter of a siding on the Puget Sound Electric Railway's right of way was referred to the Committee on Transportation; with power to petition the Officials of that couporation. There being no further business to transact, meeting was adjourne at the hour of 9;45 o'clock, to meet on Tuedday, August 4th. E. F. Greene, Clerk.
