There were present Mayor N. F. Green, Councilmen W. F. Engel, C. G. Sanders, and M. L. Holmes, Councilmen H. E. Ives. and U. V. Lemon being absent. B I L L S The following bills were read "by the Clerk and after being oked by the Finance Committee it was moved, seconded, and carried that they be paid and warrants drawn for their respective amounts, General Fund H. Higman J. L. Durbin Kenneth Hall Carl Schnoor F. McTaggert Robt. McAbee A. E. Hull Mrs. M. M. Lutz I. M. Newman Kramer Bissell Co. C. P. Jensen E. E. Lutz P. S. Power Light Co. COWAUNICATIt1; S The Town Treasurer's report was read by the Clerk and ordered placed on file. A letter from Riddell Brackett enclosing a remittance of #330.00 as final payment from the judgement against Lee Monohan was read by the Clerk and ordered placed on file, the remittance being.turned over to the TownTReasurer. REPORTS OF CO10MITTEES Street Committee. Councilman Engel. The various street work around the town which was ordered at the. last meeting is well under way, the work on Highland Drive extended, and the various crossings are completed. Work on Warren Avenue has begun, and the streets throughout the town will be dragged as soon as there has been some rain. The Ton road and the Ballou road are completed. The work on Bluff street will commence as soon as teams are available. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Ordinance No. 93 vacating a portion of Gundaker's Interurban Tract was read by the Clerk. Moved and seconded that the Ordinance be adopted. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 94 giving a.franchise to the City of Seattle to erect poles for lighting was road'by the Clerk, and ordered laid over until the next meeting. It was reported that some repairs were needed on Hazel Avenue. The matter was referred to the Street Committee. The vacation of Rice Avenue was brought up and discussed at length. The Mayor stated that therew as no objection to vacating a portion of the street if the property owners so desired, and this would be done as soon as the owners presented quli claim deeds to the Council. NEW BUSINESS Brie question of maintaining an auto park in Tukwila was brought up and discussed. A special committee of Councilmen Sanders and Holmes was appointed to look into the matter and repast at the next meeting. improvement of Maule Avenue was brought up,together with the crossing over the Interurban, and the improvement of various streets on the Flat. No action was taken, however, the matter being referred to a special committee of Councilmen Engel, Sanders, and Holmes to report at the next meeting. No further business appearing the Council adjourned at 9:45 P. M. to meet in adjourned session on Thursday evening, July 20th, at 8:00 P. M. EE Lutz 387 in its prosecution of this improvement and the Town Council feeling justified in finishing said grading and filling of said Marren Avenue without rthe usual formalities advertising and calling for bids, as it is apparent, under the conditions enumerated above, that at no time in the future could this work be carried on as cheaply or advantageously as at present, while the machinery and tools as aforesaid are on the ground and ready; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TO= COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TUMVILA, That the Street Superintendent be, and he is hereby instructed and authorized to proceed immediately and finish the grading and filling of said Warren Avenue in accord. ance with the Specifications submitted at this time by the Town Surveyor, and that a sum of Money, not to exceed Your Hundred Dollars, be appropriated out of the General Fund,of the Town of Tukwila for that purpose This Resolution was unanimously adopted by all members of the Council present. No further business appearing, meeting was adjourned at 10:15 P. M, F. J. Klein Clerk Pro Tom, (To the Clerk The following resolution was also adopted: W. -MEAS, Heretofore and on the yY day of July, 1921 the Town of Tukwila, by its properly accredited Officers, borrowed of R, E. Ives the sum of One Thousand Dollars, for the term of one year; and, WHEREAS, On account of necessary improvements, notably the improvement of Warren Aven. ue by grading and filling, it is deemed advisable by the Town Council that this loan of One Thousand Dollars be renewed for the term of one year. NOW THERffORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TUMILA That the Mayor and Treasurer be, and they are, hereby authorized and empowered by this Town Council in regular session assembled, to renew the said loan of One thousand Dollars with the said R. E. Ives, This Resolution was unanimously adopted by all members of the Council present,
