There were present Mayor E. F. Green, Councilmen F. J. Klein, W. F. Engel, 14. V. Lemon, H. E. Ives, and C. G. Sanders. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. .BILLS The following bills were read by the Clerk and after being oked by the Finance Commitlee it was moved, seconded, and carried that they be paid and warrantf. .:dram for their respective amounts. Mr. Miller aroke at length on the proposition and referred ;the Council to his proposition of iyoveiuuer 1 W20 which 1-l atat�_d r-s still in force. `COX14UNICATIONS i, The Town Treasurer's statement for the month of February was read by The Clerk and ordered placed on file. A letter from the Puget Sound Electric Railway Co. regarding the ..construction of w new freight depot and changing of the crossing was read by the .Clerk, who was instructed to follow up the matter. C0 odl I'TTr,us Street Committeo. Councilman angel. All the streets throughout the town have been dragged and put in first class condition. A new culvert has been installed at the foot of Main ;Street and the plank for "tarren Avenue h -.s been ordered, but hLs not yet arrived. NV' BUSI_`ESS Mr. Rice apperLred before the Council s,nd requested that the north end of 1 Avenue be closed and a street be condemned along the south Ride of Lots 5 t to 17 inclusive, of Block 9, extending from Wz'aule Avenue to the river. After some- discussion this matter was referred to a committee of Councilmen Klein, Ssnders an( Eves to izve3tiga.te -and report at the next men ting. Mr. Blinkenship, ap -eared before the Council and recommended that the Council take stets towards constructing a temporary bridge across the river for ;foot trsvel. After some discussion this matter w.s referred to a committee of Lemon, Ives and Engel to report at the next meeting. 1 %r. millerts report regarding the water system was again brought up and after some discussion it aa,s moved, seconded, and carried that the Council instruct I'd r. Muller to proceed with a preliminary investigation according to the 377 li :terms of his proposal in November 1920. Councilmun Klein reported that the work b=ank had been completed, and recommended that all for this work be AfttT some discussion it was ,;bills be accepted and ordered paid.
