HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921-08-11 Regular MinutesTukwila, Washington, August 11th, 1921. The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the Town of Tukwila as called to order bK_ the Mayor at 3:25 P. M. There were present Mayor E. F. Green, Councilmen W. Engel, R. E. Ives, -and C. Sanders. Councilman F. J. Klein and M. V. Lemon being absent. The minutes of the last meeting were read .and approved. B I L L S Me following bills vera reed by the Clerk and after being oked by the Finance Committee it w_:-s moved, seconded, and cr:.rried th:t they be paid and waxr nts dr: -:wn for thsir respective E!,mounts, COI&VIUNICATIONS The h wn Treasurer's report was read by the Clerk and ordered placed on file. REPORTS OF CO:r MIT TEFIS om.nittee. Councilm. an DZi�el. 91Y proposed work on the streets on the Bill has been com- pleted. The gravel pit near the school house is still open, .nd a, small mount of work is needed on Maule Avenue nesr the corner of Fir,:t ':venue. The latter w,ts referred to the Street Committee. It w a-s moved .and seconded that no further work be done on the Hill at the present time, and the gr vel pit be closed. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BLTS�.I. The side;s_�lk on Bluff Ltre l�it w is 1vought up nd discussed at length -,nd finally referred to the Nays deans Committee to investigate t the above meeting: The matter of completins the concrete tideii_.lk adjoining the pacific Highway yr =:s brought up and discussed, -and ordered laid over until the next meeting. Mr. Wallenberg zppeared before the Council _nd asked fora building permit. There being no objection it was moved, seconded, and carried that the permit be granted. It w;- reported that crossing walks were needed at the intersection of Tukwila ",venue and Main Street. The matter vices referred to the Sidewalk Committee with power to act. Councilman Landers reported on the Town HMI �.o the eT"f ect that the Committee was plan=nrg a, series of entert:.inments -end dzmces to be held throughout: the winter with the expectation of raising 11,000.00 by next :spring, .ut which time they hoped to be able to commence work on _the h-11 The Mayor appointed Mr. John Christi:.nsen as Pound Master �mnd instructed; the Laws cc Ordinance Committee to arrange for suitable plyce for empounding live stock.
