The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor at 8;20 P. M. There were present, Mayor E. F. Green, Councilmen F. G. Klein, W. F. Engel, M. "V. Lemon, H. E. Ives, and C. Sanders. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. B I L L S The following bills were read by the Clerk and after being oked by th Finance Committee it was moved, seconded, and carried that they be paid and warrants drawn for the respective amounts: General Fund J. The Town Treasurer's report was react and ordered placed on File. A letter from the City of Union Gap, Washington, was read and ordered placed on file. REPORTS OF�COI&ITTEES Streets Sidewalks. Councilman Engel. Owing to the bad weather it has been impossible to do any work on the hill. Councilman Klein reported that the work on the Flat was rrogressing satisfactorily Several members of the Council reported minor repairs needed on various streets of the town. The matter was referred to the Street Committes. Li ght Committee. Several lights which have been reported out in various parts of the .town have been attended to. School C om mi t t ee. There has been no report from the Board of Directors regarding the .new school in Tukwila as yet. After some discussion regarding the coming school election it was moved, seconded, and carried that the Clerk be instructed to write ,Mr. Jas. R. flillilend a letter asking how soon he expected to return and resume his duties on the Board,_and if he did not anticipate returning soon whether it would be agreeable for hint to resign in order that his successor night be elected at the coming election. i� i 2 Welfare _Charity Com It was reported that there was one family in Tukwila in need of i`assistance. The matter was referred to the above committee. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. The improvement of Outlet Avenue was brought up and ordered laid over ''until the next regular meeting on account of bad weather. The question of filing an appeal from the decision of the Superior Court in the case of Smith Fielding versus the Town of Tukwila was again brought up and after being moved and secoAd it was moved, secd)nd.ed, and carried that the :former motion on this matter be reconsidered. Motion was then made and seconded that ;an appeal be taken in this matter to the State Supreme Court. The motion was carried. Resolution No. 19 regarding the construction of sidewalks was read by the Clerk. Moved and seconded it be adopted as read. Resolution No. 20 regarding the construction of sidewalks was read `by the Clerk. Moved and seconded it be adopted as read. NEW BUSI It is reported that Kenney Boulevard north of Tukwila Avenue is in ::.need of repairs. moved and seconded that the Street Committee be instructed to .obtain gravel and make repairs as needed. lotion carried. Mr. Paine of Renton appeared before the Council and made a few ;;remarks regarding the leasing of property throughout the Town for coal development. After some discussion regarding the town right in regard to the mineral development :throughout the town the matter was referred to the committee of Laws Ordinances !`to report at the next meeting. The matter of wages paid for street work was brought up and diseussed� at some length, and ordered laid over until next meeting. j. The question of the new bridge to -be constructed across the Duwami.sh :at or near Tukwila was again bought up and discussed at some length. No action taken.
