HomeMy WebLinkAbout1920-10-14 Regular MinutesTukwila., Washington. October 14th, 1920. The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor at 8:15 P. M. There were present, Mayor E. F. Green, s Council.men F. J. Klein, A. J. Erickson, 17. F. Engel, M. V. Lemon, and J. G. Hopkins. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. RETORTS OF COMMITTEES: Street Committee. Councilman Klein. Owing to the extremely bad weather during the past month there has been but very little work done on the streets. COUiiUiVI CATIONS The Town Treasurer's Report was read and ordered placed on file. BILLS: The following bills were read by the Clerk and after being 0. ri.'d by the Finance Committee it was moved, seconded, and carried that they be paid, and warrants drawn for their respective amounts, General_ Fund__ Equitable Trust Co., New York James Russell Tukwila F. Wallenberg appeared before the Council and asked for a permit to build a pump- house. The matter was referred to the 'days Mean4 Committee. The matter of street my rovements throughout the town was brought up and discussed at length. Several citizens of the town gave their views on the 'matter and Mr. W. H. Stewart gave an outline of what he considered necessary in order ..to wake the streets yassable during the coming winter, stating that he had obtained an offer from the Eighth Avenue Ssnd Gr9 -vel Co. to furnish the to�+n with graved at the rate of :2.75 per cu. yd. It was moved and seconded that the Clerk be instructed to order from the above company 100 yds. of gravel to be delivered as soon as possible, costing not more than "2.75 per yd. Motion carried. M=oved and seconded that Councilman iV. F. Engel be made tem:orary Superin- tendent of Streets to su, ervise the :pork of distributing this gravel and fixing the streets as outlined in the motion passed at the last special Council meeting. Motion carried. The matter of street lights was brought up and after some discussion it wa; moved and seconded that additional street lights be installed in front of Mr. Durbin'; property on riaule Avenue, in front of Mr. Ives' property on Riverside Avenue, and in front of Bur. Mr. Schimmel rpzueated permission to bui a garage on his property an ;Uiere being no objection the permit as gr-.ntel Moved and seconded that the Stroot Committee be instructed to clear the brush assay from the side within the tovin.
