HomeMy WebLinkAbout1920-03-11 Regular MinutesTukwila, Washington. March 11, 1920 The regular monthly meeting of the C(uneil of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor at 8:20 P. M. There were present, I Mayor, E. F. Green j Counci linen F. J. Klein, jj A. J. Erickson, jj W. F. Engel, M. V. Lemon The minutes of the last regular meeting-were read -and approved. REPORTS OF OOMMITTEES Street Committee. Councilman Klein. Mr. Frank M was appointed.supervisor of streets. The following streets have been examined -by him -and the-necessary repairs made, Main Street, Riverside Avenue, and Highland Drive. A special committee of the entire council examined Outlet Street, but recommended that no action be taken at the present time. 33 i Lams Ordina _Councilman= Erickson. Ordinance No. 78, ordinance, was not ready for presentation as yet and requested more time. Request granted. Sidew;E lk Dra.inaze. Councilman Lemon. Walks on Second and Mau le Avenues have -not been replaced as yet. Motion was made and seconded the Street Committee be instructed to replace these walks at once. Motion carried. i Street Lights __Councilman Erickson. The Puget Sound Traction Light Power Co. have offered to place a street light on Riverside Avenue -within- 300 ft. of the corner of Tukwila Boulevard free of charge, or will place -same in center --of the block between Tukwila ;;Boulevard and Clarence Avenue for $33.00. Motion was made and seconded that the ',matter be laid over until the next meeting-. motion carried. Bills. i The following bills were read by the Clerk and after being 0. Kd. by the Finance Committee the motion was made, secended, and carried that they be paid and warrants dram for their respective amounts: Puget Sound Traction Light Poorer Co. Charles Monster Frank McDonald A. Dollar A. E. Hull E. E. Lutz TOTAL UNFINISHED BUSINESS The bonds of J. L. Durbin, police magistrate, and F. D. Lovejoy, the town marshal, were presented to the Council for approval. Moved and seconded that-they- be approved. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS ii Motion was made and-seconded that the Clerk notify the Treasurer to transfer the sum of $500.00 from the general fund to the 1919 Bond fund to repay the loan ordered at a previous meeting. Motion carried. Councilman Erickson -again requested that a catch basin be placed in the drain on the Flat. The matter was referred to the Street Committee. Councilman Engel reported that he had fixed the motorcycle belonging to the Town and was ready to accept bids on same. The Mayor appointed a special committee consisting of Councilman Engel and to arrange for disposal of machine. No further business occuring the Council adjourned at 9 :15 P E.E. Lutz
