SPONSOR'S Construction Management Services have been negotiated with DMJM Harris for the

Supplemental Agreement No.1
ISSUE
Supplemental Agreement No.1 has been negotiated with DMJM Harris for construction
management services on the Allentown/Foster Point Water and Sewer Improvements project in
the amount of $500,000.00.
BACKGROUND
Recently, Council approved the construction contract bid award to R.L. Alia Company in the
amount of $6,982,432 at the March 20,2006 Council meeting.
DMJM Harris is under a task order contract for construction management services and a
supplement to the contract will be necessary when a specific project has been assigned and costs
negotiated. The supplement with the scope and costs will require Council approval when over
$25,000.
ANALYSIS
A contract supplement for construction management services has been negotiated for a fixed
fee not to exceed $500,000.00. The scope of work includes a full-time on-site construction
inspector, construction survey control and spot checking, part-time project management and
contract administration. This fee is reasonable and within the Allentown/Foster Point Water
and Sewer Improvements overall project budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the Mayor to sign Supplemental Agreement No.1 with DMJM Harris for
construction management services in the amount of $500,000.00 for the Allentown/Foster
Point Water and Sewer Improvement Project.
