HomeMy WebLinkAbout1919-07-17 Adjourned Minutes34 Tukwila, dash. July 17th, 1919. The Council of the Town of Tukwila met in adjourned session and was called to order by the Mayor at 8 :35 P. M. Thera ware present, Mayor E, F. Greene, Councilmen A. J. Erickson, J. B. Heemink, G, Wallenberg, F, J. Klein and B. H. Kassner. The bids for Street Improvements were opened and read by the clerk as follows: Mead Brannon Grading flat .85cts per yd, Ford white Grading hill .48cts Moving gravel $1.25 E. J. MacQuaid Grading flea 1100 Grading hill g yp a C, L. Creasman Co. Entire Contract $13000.00 Smith Fielding Grading flat .3 H Grading hill .50 Moving gravel .50 Building rock wall 100 Digging ditch for drain 100,00 Making a total of approximately 15838.42 Quotations for wood stave pipe were read by the clerk, After a general discussion a motion was made and seconded that the bid of Smith Fielding be accepted. Carried. Moved and seconded that all of resolution #13 be repealed except that portion referring to the sidewalk on Tukwila Ave. between Main Street and Riverside Ave., and in lieu thereof the clerk notify the property owners that sidewalks should be moved by them preparatory to grading and they be allowed to replace old walks where possible or build new walks at their option. Carried. Mover and seconded that Mayor and Clerk be empowered to enter into contract with Smith and Fielding for completing street improvements at once. Carried, The Mayor ordered a special Council meeting on J#ly 23rd for the purpose of executing contract and transacting such other business pertaining to the Street work as would be necessary. All Councilmen waived further notice of this meeting. No further business appraaring, the Council adjourned at 10:25 P. M. Town Clerk Tukwila, Mash. July 23rd 1919. The Council of the Town of Tukwila met in Special Session and was called to order by the Mayor at 9 :05 P, M. There were present Mayor E, F. Greens, Councilmen F, J. Klein, G, Wallenberg and B, H. Kassner, Resolution #14 was read by the clerk. Moved And seconded that it be adopted, Carried. The bond of Smith and Fielding was read by the clerk, Moved and Seconded that the Bond be accepted, Carried, The contract between the Town and Smith and Fielding for street work was read by the clerk, Moved and seconded that any extra work ordered by the Street Committee with the coat ractora, shall be made in writing, a copy of which order shall be turned in to the Council, Carried, Moved and seconded that the contract be accepted and executed, Carried, Councilman Kassner reported that sewer pipe could be purchased from Renton at 40 cents per foot. The contractors agreed to install above pipe for the ditch for $25.90. Moved and seconded that the Street Committee be empowered to purchase the above pipe Carried. No further business appearing, the Counetl adjourned at 14 :40 P, M. Town Clerk,
