HomeMy WebLinkAbout1919-07-10 Regular Minutes.11 Tukwila., Wash, July 10, 1919. The regular monthly meeting of the Town Council of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor at 8:35 P. M. There were present, Mayor E, F,- Greene, Councilmen A, J. Erickson, J. B. Heemink, G. Wallenberg,-F, J, Klein and B. H,.Kassner, Minutes of the last meeting read and approved. Report of Committees: Street Committee Councilman Kassner The work on the L. Lemon road is nearly completed and is being done in first class shape, Special. Committee Councilman Klein The engineer frog the P. S. F. Ry has investigated the property on the flat and will put in drain to connect right of way with town drain, Treasurer's report read and ordered filed. Bills: The following bills were read and after being 0. K,ed by the finance committee, ordered paid, and warrants drawn for the sane. Lowman Hanford Stationery 7,80 Frank McDonald Street Work 8.50 E. E. Lutz Clerk Services and Postage etc. 8.00 Excelsior Motor, Co. Installment Due 25,00 P. S. T. L. P. Co. Street lights 24,65 C. P. Jensen Treasurer's Services 27X TOTAL 101,32 Moved and seconded that the claim of F. McDonald against the town be settled for $125.00 and warrant be drawn for same. Carried. Unfinished Business: Councilman Kassner reported that the garbage accumulated about the town would soon be collected. New Business: Moved and seconded that the clerk draw a warrant in favor of A J, Fielding for 46 full for contract and hold same until work is accepted by street committee, Carried. Reported that thistles were growing in several parts of the town and recommen- ded that they be cut, Referred to the Street Committee for action, Ordinance #78 Building Ordinance, was -read by the clerk Moved and seconded that it be laid over till next meeting. Carried. Ordinance #85 was read by the clerk. Moved and seconded that it be laid over 4 till next meeting, Carried, Ordinance #86 was read by the clerk, Moved and seconded that it be laid over till next meeting, Carried, Resolution #13 was read by the clerk, Loved and seconded that it be adopted. Carried. It was reported that the Town had no authority over the sidewalks on Reits, Atie' as it was County property. The clerk was instructed to write the Attorney General of-. the State and the Prosecuting Attorney of King County for an opinion on the same. Councilman Klein reported that the bulkhead on Main Street needed repairing and recommended that the out on Main Street at the point of the hill be extended to the property line. After a genegal discussion, motion was made and seconded that the Street Committee be empowered to add to the contract that a out be made on fain Strew to the line of the Improvement Club property, Carried, The disposition of the Torn Uotorcycle was referred to Councilman Klein. The Clerk was instructed to get a price on wood stave pip& for drain and report at the next meeting. Moved and seconded that the Council advertise for bids for the laying of a dray on Second Ave, Carried, No further business appearing, the Council adjourned at 10:55 P. M. -to meet in adjourned session on JulY 17th, Town Clerk
