AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
VACATING CERTAIN PUBLIC RIGHT -OF -WAY GENERALLY DESCRIBED
AS A PORTION OF 53rd AVENUE SOUTH ADJACENT TO INTERSTATE
HIGHWAY 5, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP OF THE CITY,
AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a petition for the vacation of certain public
right -of -way located in the City of Tukwila, described as a
portion of 53rd Avenue South adjacent to Interstate Highway 5 and
more particularly described on Exhibit A attached hereto has been
filed with the City of Tukwila and signed by the owners of two
thirds of the property abutting the area sought to be vacated, and
WHEREAS, the City has processed the petition in accordance
with the procedures set forth in RCW Chapter 35.79, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 648 of the City, the City of
Tukwila held a public hearing on October 2, 1978 to consider the
proposed vacation, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 11.60.050 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code, the petitioner has deposited with the City the sum
of $423.53, which the City Council finds does not exceed one -half
of the appraised value of the area to be vacated, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That certain right -of -way located in the City of
Tukwila generally described as a portion of 53rd Avenue South
adjacent to Interstate Highway 5 and more particularly described
on Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by this
reference as if fully set forth, dedicated to the City for street
purposes, is hereby vacated.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 11.66.020 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code and RCW 35.79.030, the City Council adopts the sum
of $423.53 as compensation which the City Council finds does not
exceed one -half of the appraised value of the area vacated. The
receipt of such sum from the petitioners is hereby acknowledged.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to record a
certified copy of this ordinance with the King County Auditor.
Section 4. The City Public Works Director is hereby directed
to amend the Official Street Map of the City to be consistent with
this ordinance.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force five (5) days after publication of the attached summary
which is hereby approved.

That portion of 53rd Avenue South (formerly known as Graham Avenue) located
westerly of the south 100 feet of Tract 13, of Seattle Land Company's five -acre
tracts as recorded in Volume 6, Page 90 of Plats, Records of King County, WA;
except that portion of primary State Highway Number 1 (SR 5) as given under
S.C. #596231; all in the NW 1 of Section 23, T23N, R4E, W.M.

SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. /V/
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
VACATING CERTAIN PUBLIC RIGHT -OF -WAY GENERALLY DESCRIBED
AS A PORTION OF 53rd AVENUE SOUTH ADJACENT TO INTERSTATE
HIGHWAY 5, AMENDED THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP OF THE CITY,
AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
On jzMaa/Ati /9 1987, the City Council of the City
u
of Tukwila passed Ordinance No. /4%7 which provides as
follows:
Section 1. Vacates a portion of 53rd Avenue South adjacent
to Interstate Highway 5 in approximately the 14900 block more
particularly described on Exhibit A to this summary.
Section 2. Accepts the sum of $423.53 as compensation for
the vacation.
Section 3. Directs the City Clerk to record a copy of the
ordinance.
Section 4. Directs the Public Works Director to amend the
Official Street Map.
Section 5. Establishes an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge
to anyone who submits a written request to the City Clerk of the
City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
