FILE NO. �7 6/ as o dd AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, VACATING CERTAIN PUBLIC RIGHT -OF -WAY WITHIN THE CITY GENERALLY DESCRIBED AS A PORTION OF THE STRANDER BOULEVARD RIGHT -OF -WAY LYING NORTH OF THE EXISTING PAVED SURFACE. WHEREAS, the City Parks and Recreation Department is proposing to build a restroom and parking facilities at the City's Bicentennial Park, and WHEREAS, due to the unusually wide right -of -way along Strander Boulevard adjacent to the Park and the desire to maintain open space and meet setback requirements for the restroom, the Parks and Recreation Department has requested a vacation of a portion of Strander Boulevard right -of -way lying north of the existing paved surface, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 1024, passed by the City Council on December 1, 1986, the City Council conducted a public hearing on January 5, 1987, which was not less than twenty (20) nor more than sixty (60) days from the date of passage of Resolution 1024, for the purpose of considering the requested street vacation, and WHEREAS, at the conclusion of the public hearing, after hearing all persons who wished to speak concerning the vacation, the City Council determined that the vacation was appropriate under the circumstances and that a public benefit exists in approving the requested vacation, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Street Vacated. That certain public right -of -way located in the City of Tukwila generally described as a portion of the Strander Boulevard right -of -way lying north of the existing paved surface, and more particularly described on Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth, is hereby vacated. Section 2. Duties of City Clerk. The City Clerk is hereby directed to record a certified copy of this ordinance with the King County Auditor. Section 3. Duties of City Public Works Director. The City Public Works Director is hereby instructed to amend the City's Official Street Map to be consistent with this ordinance. Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after publication of the attached summary which is hereby approved. VAN DUSEN day of The northerly right-of-way margin for Strander Boulevard west of the Green River shall be redefined by vacating that certain portion which lies northerly of the following described line: Commencing at the northwest corner of Government Lot 4 in the northwest 1/4 of Section 25, T23N, R4E,W.M.; thence south 88c)15`33" east, a distance of 550.29 feet; thence north 01=44`27" east, 27.11 feet; thence north 24=58'35" west,77.0 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, said point which is also common to the easterly right-of-way margin of Christensen Road; thence south 24""58'35" east along a curve to the left having a radius of 35 feet, through a central angle of 94c an arc distance of 57.92 feet; thence north 60=12'20" east, 85.86 feet; thence north 24�03'33" east, 50 feet more or less to the Green River and the END OF THIS DESCRIPTION.
