Thearecessed meeting of November 4, 1957 was galled to order by
the Mayor, Chas. 0. 1) aker, at 8 p.m. Councilmen present were Stan
Minkler, Rudolf Regel, A.G.Radford and Melvin Watkins.
This date had been set for a Public Hearing on a petition for
annexation of an area south of the Tukwila City limits.
Mr. baker welcomed those present especially those property
owners who were petitioning the Town for annexation.
The Mayor introduced The Annexation Committee, Mr. Ronald Doyle,
Mr. Wm. Aliment, Mr. Larry Frese and Mr. Jerry Hamilton and thanked
them for their untiring efforts. He also presented the officers of
the Planning 'ommission, Mr. John Strander, Lhairman and Mr. Carl
Bergstrom, See our attorney Mr. Dobson and members of the Town
Uouncil.
Mr. Baker asked if there were any present who wished to voice
any objections to the Annexation Mr. 4 ohn .belongia presented a
number of questions which Mr. Baker answered The protests were
presented in writing and placed on file. Others asked questions which
were also answered. The Council members agreed the protests were not
sufficient to exclude the area protested from annexation.
It was moved by Stan Minkler and seconded by kr. Hegel that the
property included in said petition be annexed effective as of midnight
November 25th, 1957. Motion carried.
It was then moved by Mr. Regel and seconded by Mr. Minkler that ord.
247, an ordinance annexing property to the Town of Tukwila, be placed
on its first reading. Aotion carried
A bill for a stove for the Town Hall was presented and upon motion
ordered paid. the amount to H.C.Grohs for $25.00
Mr. Baker appointed Mr. Lawrence Frese a member of the Planning
Commission his term to expire January 2, 1953. By motion the Council
confdirmed this appointment.
Meeting recessed at 9:40 to meet on November 18 at 8 p.m.
