AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, ADDING
A NEW SECTION 9.12.030 TO THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE
ADOPTING RCW 46.16.028 BY REFERENCE AND REQUIRING
RESIDENTS OF THE STATE TO LICENSE AND REGISTER THEIR
VEHICLES IN WASHINGTON.
WHEREAS, Section 1 of Chapter 353, Laws of 1985, now codified
as RCW 46.16.028, created a new misdemeanor for Washington
residents who do not license and register their motor vehicles in
this State, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the
interest of the public health, safety and welfare to adopt the new
statute by reference so that Tukwila police officers may cite such
violations through Tukwila Municipal Court, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A new Section 9.12.030 is hereby added to the
Tukwila Municipal Code to read as follows:
9.12.030 Licensing and Registration Required. RCW
46.16.028, and all future amendments thereto, is adopted
by reference.
Section 2. Duties of Clerk. The City Clerk is directed to
maintain not less than one (1) copy of RCW 46.16.028 on file in
the office of the City Clerk for public inspection and copying
during normal business hours.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary
thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of the City,
and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after the
date of publication.

WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting thereof this day of
