There were present mayor E. F. Greene, Councilmen B. F. Kassner, J. Klein, G. Wallenberg, A. J.-Erickson and J. B. Heemink. Minutes of last regular meeting and of mass meeting read and approved. Report of Committees: street Committee Councilman Ka-ssner There has been no special work on any of the streets during the past month and the stump on Bluff Street has not been taken out, owing to inability to get anyone to do the ssork. Expect to have it removed in the near future. Lair and Ordinance Councilmen Erickson:- Ordinance No. regulating businesr, in the town and Ordinance No. 80 providing for an election to determine a bond issue were read by the clerk. Communications: A petition, signed by 175 residents and taxpayers requesting. that Judge Durbin be exonerated from charges preferred against him as appeared in the minutes of council meeting held December loth 1918, was read. notion made by Councilman Ka,srrer, seconded by Councilman Klein th&t petition be accepted and placed on file. Poll call vote taken, all councilmen voting yes. Motion carried. committee. Letter from Henry Ballou regarding street read and referred to street Letter from the Nation€l Ban'_{ of Commerce regarding bond read and referred to the Toz:n Attorney. Carried. Unfinished. Business: The street committee reported report on the crosbing from Maule Avenue asked for more time. Granted. Referred to the clerk to prepare the papers. Motion made and seconded that the clerk's bond be approved by the Council. Carried. Councilman Erickson reported that Sir. Ton had brought the motorcycle belonging to the town, out from Seattle, and that he would turn it over to the clerk New Business*- Councilman K;Zsner reported that some citizens had been dumping garbage on private property and recommended that steps be taken bo prevent it. Referred to Street Committee. Ordinance No. 79, licensing business in the town w a-- again read by the clerk. Moved and seconded that the license fee be fix._d at t5.00. Carried. Moved and seconded that ordinance be again read by title, placed on final passage and adopted. Carried. Letter from John E. Price do Co. regarding bond issue read. Councilmen Heemink end Erickson objected to going further with the proposed bond issue until the cost of the improvements were more definately defermined. After a general discus sion, a motion was made appropriating A500.00 to procure blue prints before voting on the bond issue. No second. Motion decla-rec lost. Ordinance No. 80, calling for an election to determine whether -the toum shall issue bonde in the amount o° for certain street improvements, Was agaiA read and after further discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Klein, seconded by Councilman Ktssner that Ordinance No. 80 be again read by title, placed'on final Passage and adopted. $oll call vote taken, all councilmen voting yes. Motion carried:_ The a with John E. Price Co., whereby they were to perform all service- -s connected with the issuing of bonds in case the election carried, for t550.W and in case the election did not carry, a. payment of x'50.00 for services rendered, wad then discussed at length.. A motion was finally made by Councilman Klein, seconded b Councilman Wallenberg instructing the mayor and clerk to execute such agreement. Motidn carried. No further business appearing, the council adjourned at 10 :15 P. M. Town Clerk.
