The 11th Council of the Town
of Tukwila met in regular session in the Council
Chamber in Lutz Hall, Wednesday evening.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevens.
Councilmembers Erickson Klein and Hemmick
answering to the roll call. Councilmember Wallenberg
and Kassner not being present.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved.
The report of the Town Treasurer was read and
placed on file. This included report of fines and forfeitures
from Pacific Highway in the amount of $215.00.
The report of the Municipal Judge was read and
ordered placed on file.
Superintendent of Streets Klein reported that all sidewalks
had been repaired with couple of exceptions.
That the new sidewalks on Tukwila Avenue was well
under way, that the constract had been awarded to
Frank Mcdonald for $130.00 for building sidewalks.
The Superintendent of Streets was instructed to notify Hans
Weiderman in person under the sidwalk law
about the stairway near Gilliland's.
The report of the County Treasurer was read
and placed on file.

Fire and Police Committee no report
A communication from State Highway Commissioner
James Allen regarding furnishing
materials for road building was read by the
Clerk and ordered placed on file.
A communication from County Auditor Wardall
regarding absent votes "blank was read and
ordered filed".
Following Bills were read by clerk and Ok'd by Finance
Committee:

Upon motion by councilmember Klein seconded by
Councilmember Hemmick the Clerk was instructed
to draw warrants for all bills OK'd by Finance committee.
The Mayor reported that motorcycle officer Long had sold his
machine as he expected to be in next draft.
It was decided to get a new officer with a speedometer.
councilmember Hemmick made the motion
seconded by Councilmember Erickson that
arrangements be made to put in five or six new
street lights and that the Superintendent of Streets look
over Town once when lights were most needed
and report to the Clerk and letter written to Electric
Light Company so that lights could be in by
October 1, 1918. Carried.
Councilmember Klein seconded by
Councilmember Hemmick made a motion that
the Ordinance Committee be instructed
to present ordinance to stop the coasting
down sidewalks and viaducts. Carried.
Police Chief Erickson was instructed to
see parents of children who throw rocks and
have the practice stopped.
Councilmember Klein stated that be expected
to prospect the gravel pit as soon as he could get
a teamster.
The clerk read the estimated Budget for the year 1919.
Councilmember Klein moved that the Budget
be placed on file and that the Clerk
post notices in their conspicuous places
and date of meeting for considering Budget.
Seconded by Councilmember Erickson. Carried.
Councilmember Klein was instructed to
put up railing on sidewalk in Tukwila Avenue
between Maroj Street and Warren Avenue.
Meeting then adjourned.
