The site is important because this reach of the estuary provides the appropriate range of salinities for juvenile Chinook to transition to salt water Off channel and shallow water habitats in this stretch of the Duwamish will provide opportunities for juvenile fish to move out of the main channel to habitats where they can feed and rear Longer residence times in the estuary allow for larger healthier smolts prior to ocean migration The property is among the largest remaining pieces of under developed sites for habitat restoration remaining in the Duwamish corridor Located in the midst of several other restoration sites the property will provide an important habitat and open space link. The property until recently operated as a family farm known as "Duwamish Gardens" is flat with a bank of approximately 20 feet to the Duwamish River with approximately 500 feet of river frontage Structures on the property include two houses a barn and three outbuildings A large sign posted on the property advertises its availability "for Sale or Lease" The threat that the property may be lost for restoration purposes is significant, so there is some urgency to the purchase AAGREEDSC.RPT September 9 2008 Page 1 Amendment Eligible Reimbursement Activities Report Project Sponsor City of Tukwila Project Number 06 -2199 A Project Title Duwamish Gardens Amendment Number 2 Acquisition Items Worksite Property Element Item Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Administrative costs Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Applicable taxes Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Appraisal and review Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Closing Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Hazardous substances assess Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Land Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Recording fees Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Relocation Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Survey boundary Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 1 Title reports /insurance Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Administrative costs Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Applicable taxes Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Appraisal and review Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Closing Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Cultural Resources Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Hazardous substances assess Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Land Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Recording fees Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Relocation Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Survey boundary Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 2 Title reports /insurance Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Administrative costs Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Applicable taxes Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Appraisal and review Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Closing Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Hazardous substances assess Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Land Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Recording fees Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Relocation Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Survey boundary Duwamish Gardens Duwamish Gardens Parcel 3 Title reports /insurance AELIGREIM.RPT September 9 2008 Page: 1 46 i Salmon Project Agreement Salmon Funding Accounts Project Sponsor- City of Tukwila Project Number 06 -2199A Project Title: Duwamish Gardens Approval Date 12/6/2006 A.
