The 10th Council of the Town of
Tukwila met in Regular session in the Council
Chamber in Lutz Hall.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevens.
Councilmembers Wallenberg Erickson Klein Kassner
and Hemmick answering to the roll call.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
Standing Committees
Fiannce, Street, Fire and Police, Law and Ordinance
and Health committees, no report.
The monthly and annual report of Town
Treasurer was read. Councilmember Klein seconded by
Councilmember Erickson moved that the report be
accepted and placed on file. Carried.
Annual report of TOwn Clerk was read and on
motion of Councilmember Klein seconded by erickson
was accepted and placed on file.
There was a discrepancy of $0.11 found between
the two reports. Treasurer Jensen stating that
the Bank was $0.11 to the good. The Treasurer
was instructed to take over the $0.11 and include it in
his report for the future.
The report of the Municipal magistrate was read
and upon motion of Councilmember Klein seconded
by Wallenberg was accepted and placed
on file.
Report of County Treasurer was read and
ordered placed on file.
Special Committees
No report on Brick highway from Olympia.
Communication from Dr. Kenneth J. Holtz
resignation as Health Officer from Town of Tukwila
read and on motion of Councilmember Kassner
seconded by Erickson was accepted.
A communication from J.m. Howell Secretary of
State concerning glaring headlights was read and
ordered placed on file.
Following bills were read by the Clerk and OK by
finance Committee:

W.G. Lutz $4.85
J.W. Pierce $2.40
Lemnant & Hanford $2.75
Alicia D. stevens $5.50
Total $38.90
Councilmember Klein seconded by
Kassner moved that the Clerk be authorized
to warrants for all bills read by Clerk. OK'd by the
Finance Committee. Carried.
After a discussion it was left to the Street
Committee to look into Riverside Avenue,
south of Clarence Avenue and to do the best thing
they can. Councilmember Klein asked for further
time in Tukwila Avenue to Warren Avenue.
On motion of councilmember Klein seconded
by Councilmember Kassner, the 10th Council
of the Town of tukwila adjourned sine die.

Immediately after the adjournment of the
10th Council, the 11th Council of the
town of Tukwila convened.
Treasurer Jensen was sworn in by Mayor
Stevens and his Oath of Office placed on file.
The new Councilmembers: F.J. Klein, B.H. Kassner and
G. Wallenberg were then sworn in by
Mayor STevens.
The Mayor then called the meeting to order.
Councilmembers Wallenberg erickson Klein Kassner
and Hemmick answering to the roll call.
New Committees for the ensuing year were then
appointed:

Streets and Walks
F.J. Klein
B.H. Kassner
Law and Ordinance

G. Wallenberg
J.B. Hemmick
Police and Fire
B.H. Kassner
G. Wallenberg
councilmember F.J. Klein was appointed office's Superintendent
of Streets.
councilmember Klein seconded by
Erickson moved that the salary of the Town
Clerk be raised to $7.50 for the ensuing year
and the City Attorney be isntructed to draw up
Ordiannce to cover increase in accordance with
motion presented.
An ordinance prohibiting and providing
for the abatement of any source of filth or
nuisance detrimental to Health and providing
a penalty for violation hereof was read by Clerk.
Councilmember Kassner seconded by Hemmick
moved that Ordinance be laid on the
table for further consideration and taken up at
future meeting.
Councilmember Kassner moved that Chairman of
Law and Ordinance Committee be instructed to draw
up ordinance making speed limit in new Pacific
Highway 15 mph.
councilmember Klein proposed an amendment
making speed limit 12 mph. Seconded by
Councilmember Wallenberg. Amendment carried.
Original motion carried.
councilmember Kassner moved that councilmember
Klein be instructed to build sign posts
for the new highway. councilmember Erickson
to aint them and Wallenberg to
better them. Town to supply the luncheon.
Amended that Councilmember Kassner furnish
the iron. councilmember Hemmick to dig
post holes and Mayor Stevens to set posts. Carried.
Councilmember Hemmick moved that
Street Committee took into Lake on Wallenberg's
property and see what could be done. Carried
Councilmember Erickson notified that the
property formerly owned by Stacy Shaun was
new owned by D.C. Floyd Silverton Washington.
Councilmember Erickson seconded by
Klein moved that the Deed of Steigler to the
Town of Tukwila be recorded. Carried.
Council then adjourned to February 12, 1918 on
motion of Councilmember Kassner seconded by
Klein.
