These improvements are valued at $345,132.59 and are located at 12400 Tukwila International Blvd. Public Works staff inspected the facilities and all permits were signed off and ready for turnover. Date: Subject: Mayor Mullet Public Works Directo~ October 18, 2005 Turnover of Traffic Signal, Street, and Storm Drainage Facilities Within and Adjacent to Tukwila International Blvd. ISSUE Accept turnover of storm drainage system (constructed within a public easement) and traffic signal and street infrastructure (constructed within public right-of-way) as part of the development known as the DHS - Seattle District Office Development. DHS - Seattle District Office Permit No. PW04-023 Site Address -12400 Tukwila International Blvd., Tukwila Parcel Nos. 102304-9080 / 734060-0602 /102304-9082 BACKGROUND The DHS - Seattle District Office Development is now completed As a condition of the development, the DHS - Seattle District Office Development included the construction of 914 LF of 12-inch storm pipe, 99 LF of 24-inch storm pipe, six (6) Type I catch basins, two (2) Type II 54-inch catch basins, 1,350 LF of curb and gutter, ten (10) wheel chair ramps, 11,600 SF of 8-foot to 1 O-foot wide concrete sidewalks, and 2,900 SY of asphalt pavement. Four (4) Type III Signal Poles with Mast Arm, and Luminaire, ten (10) Traffic Signals, one (1) Type PS Pedestrian Pole, one (1) Type PPB Pedestrian Pole, eight (8) Pedestrian Signals and pushbuttons, one (1) Controller Cabinet, one (1) Service Cabinet, five (5) Streetlight poles with Luminaire Light, one (1) Video Traffic Detection System with four (4) cameras, 850 LF of Street Light Conduit with five (5) junction boxes, 1,700 LF of conduit for CCTV and future signal connections, 3,665 LF of striping, 320 LF of painted wide line, 87 LF of Plastic Stop Bar, 335 LF of Plastic Crosswalk Line, Eight (8) Plastic Traffic Arrows, 108 Type I RPM, and 119 Type II RPM. The value of the transferred assets, from the Developer to the City of Tukwila, is $345,132.59 Conditions were placed on the development to provide the following turnover documents:* 1. Letter from owner requesting turnover 2. List of Materials/Costs (City format) 3. Deed of Conveyance of Public Improvements 4 Easement for Storm Drainage (Public) 5 Easement for Ingress/Egress & Maintenance (Traffic Signal) 6. Two-year maintenance bond 7. As-built plans and CD for proposed public facilities The proposed public facilities have been constructed to City standards and inspected by Public Works staff and are now ready for turnover as public infrastructure. Turnover Documents for Dept. of Homeland $ecuritv (DHS) A storm drainage system and street infrastructure in the public easements on S 126th and 34th Ave S included sidewalks, curb and gutter, and wheelchair ramps. All were constructed to City standards and are ready for turnover to the City. Their value is $~2,105.72. Authorize mayor's signature on accepting turnover infrastructure to consen6\genda of a Regular Meeting. .~. Turnover of Traffic Signal, Street and Storm Drains at DHS These facilities were built in :'['fhe public right of way/easement along Tukwila International Blvd. They include a long list of items related to the traffic light, crosswalk, and pedestrian walks, as well as storm drain catch basins and pipes. The value of these turnover facilities is $345,132.59. Authorize mayor's signature on accepting turnover facilities to consent agenda of a Regular Meeting. 3. Tukwila International Boulevard Phase I Undergrounding Property owners on TIB need to underground their ~ower. Those south of S. 144th need to have it done by November 1st, and those north of S. 144t need to have it done by December 8th. Each property is different. Some can get power from an alley in back of them, some have finished their undergrounding, and others have not even begun. If the undergrounding IS not completed by the 90-day deadline, current law authorizes the work to be done by the City and the property to have a lien placed on it. Staff will continue working with the owners to encourage their hook ups. Information. 4. Budget Review The Committee finished its review of the transportation- related CIP and budget book items.
