Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevens.
The Clerk being absent. Mayor appointed
In roll call following Councilmembers answered
to their names Wallenberg Erickson and Klein.
Report of Town Treasurer read and ordered to be
placed on file.
No other reports received from Town officers.
Councilmember Kassner
came in and took his seat at this time.
Mayor Stevens reported that City Attorney preparing to appear before the Supreme
Court and ask for
The case of the Town of Tukwila versus County
Commissioner of King County. that the
had been refused. The plaintiff saw a motion
made before the Superior Court. Upon a motion
made by Councilmember WAllenberg Attorney Ines
was instructed to wait upon the Commissioner
in regard to the nuisance on the New Pacific Highway
to be abated.
Letter form Mr. Mathes Superintendent of Transportation
Puget Sound
and ordered filed.
This letter was an acknowledgement of the sent him by the Council
thanking him for the many

the owner of the heifer by the Poundmaster.
In motion of COuncilmember Erickson and seconded by Councilmember
Kassner
Councilmember Klein reported that boys were
walking on the rail of the Engel Hill Viaduct
which practice was extremely dangerous. He
then made a motion which was seconded and
carried that the Street Committee be authorized
to have a through-cornered rail placed on
top of the railings so that it would be impossible
for children to use the railings as a
playground.
Councilmember Klein introduced an ordinance
prohibiting property owners from
swinging gates out over the sidewalk. The
ordinance was passed to its second reading
an upon roll call passed with the unanimous
vote of the Council.
Councilmember Wallenberg reported that the
thistles were getting numerous no many
places. Councilmember Kassner stated that he
would attend the cutting of the
Councilmember Kassner made a report on
progress of the words being done on Main Street
grade.
Current bills against the Town were then read.
Councilmember Hemmick Chairman of the
Finance Committee not being present a motion
made by Councilmember Kassner and
seconded by Councilmember Wallenberg that
all bills OK'ed by the Finance Committee of
a future time be accepted by the Clerk
and warrants drawn for the same.
Councilmember Kassner then tendered his
resignation as Supertintendent of Streets which was not
acted upon.
Councilmember Erickson reported no progress
in the Stacy Shown property.
As no lids were received for the construction
of that portion of the new sidewalk
to be laid on Main Street by the Town a
motion was made by COuncilmember Erickson
seconded by COuncilmember WAllenberg and
carried the Street Committee be authorized to
lay the sidewalk not put down by the abutting
property owners.
Council then adjourned to meet in Regular Session on
August 14, 1917
