HomeMy WebLinkAbout1917-06-12 Regular MinutesReport of Police and LIght Law and ordinance committee were given until the next Regular Meeting to make a report on the proposed Health Ordinance. Streets and Sidwalks Committee made report on grading of Main Street stating that delay on grading was brought about by not getting teams as he was promised. Councilmember Erickson reported taht he had waited upon Mr. Stacy Shown regarding the road through his property nothing definite was determined and he was given further time to make his report. Motion made by Erickson to place deed of Mr. Gleigler on record. seconded by councilmember Wallenberg Motion failed to carry. Treasurer report read and ordered placed on Poundmaster reprot read and ordered on file Health Officers report read and ordered placed on file Finance Committee made report on the Blankenship contract and deed to reporting that title is Ok and settlement was made satisfactory to all parties. Motion made by Councilmember Kassner seconded by Councilmember Hemmick taht Blanksenship deed be accepted and placed on file. Motion carried. Report made by Mayor Stevens on highway saying taht Court had decided against Town. Bills against the Town read and OK by Finance Committee and warrants ordered drawn for same following are the Bills. Bill from Renton Lumber Company laid over Abstract Company Puget Sound LIght For deed on record Hall rent Town Clerk J.T. Durbin J. Johnson Kassner roebuck Andrew Tom claimed ownership of Heifer sold by Poundmaster and made request for balance of money due him on heifer. Motion made by Kassner to lay over to next meeting to allow Mr. Tom to prove ownership. Chairman Kassner of the Street committee made a report on purchase of Road drag giving from Polson and Company at $35 Motion made by Chairman Kassner to purchase one for the Town following was the vote Wallenberg Erickson Kassner Klein Hemmick Motion carried. Motion made by Kassner to empower the Mayor and City Attorney to prosecute the case of the Town of Tukwila. by the County Commissioners of King County involving th equestion of the Kind of pavement to be used on the new Pacific Highway running through the Town Seconded by Erickson. Proposed 4th of July Celebration introduced by Mayor Stevens. Motion made by Kassner that the Mayor be instructed to call a mass meeting in regards to the celebration at an early date. Motion of Kassner to request the Clerk to advertise for lids for new alk on Main Street. Seconded by Erickson. Motion made by Kassner taht Erickson Chairman of the Police Committee be appointed Town Marshal and that the Mayor and each Councilmember act as his deputies. This arrangement to be in effect until a regular Marshal be appointed by the Mayor. Moade made and carried to adjourn to meet in Regular Session on July 10, 1917. J. Hozack
