HomeMy WebLinkAbout1917-04-10 Regular MinutesThe 10th Common Council of the Town of Tukwila met in Regular Session in Lutz Hall. April 10, 1917 Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevens Clerk J. Hozack was absent and Councilmember F. Kline was apponted clerk pro tempore. Those present were Councilmember Kassner Wallenberg Erickson Hemmick and Kline. Minutes of the last regular meeting read and approved. Report of the Treasurer read and ordered placed on file No report of Police and Finance Committee Report of Poundmaster read and ordered placed on file Committee on Health and Sanitation made a report on city dump stating that it was all ready for use Street Committee reported that they were unable to do work as contemplated due to the very inclement weather. Councilmember Erickson reported that he consulted Mr. Ton in regards to installing electric lights in his district and reported that Mr. Ton and others in said district would not aid in stallation of the lighting system. Communication of School Board read and ordered placed on file. Communication of Welfare League in regards to streets read and Clerk was instructed by motion to answer same stating that places mentioned will be attended to Communication of Bonding read and ordered placed on file. Bills against Town read by Clerk and approved by Finance Committee. Warrants ordered to be drawn for same following are the bills: C.P. Jensen J. Johnson Motion by Councilmember Kassner seconded by Councilmember Kline that the Health Ordinance presented by COuncilmember Kassner be laid over till next meeting so as to give the Council time to look them over. Bills against the Town read by the Clerk and approved by Finance Committee. Following are the bills: Caroline Lutz Hozack P.S.T.L and Power COmpany Gryne and Greene A. Hopkins J.T. Durbin Renton Wagon Works D.W. Stauffer Motion by Councilmember Kline seconded by councilmember Kassner that the Mayor instruct the city Attorney Jones to pass upon the BLankenship Deed giving a written and if the opinion is favorable Chairman Hemmick and the Finance Committee is authorized to instruct the Clerk to issue a Warrant to Mr. Blankenship. Roll call showed the following vote Councilmember Kassner Kline Erickson Hemmick all yes. Motion carried. Mayor Stevens presented the name of Mr. Parsons for Poundmaster and asked that the appointment be confirmed by the Council. Motion by Councilmember Kline seconded by Councilmember Hemmick that Mr. Parsons is accepted as poundmaster for the Town. Motion by Councilmember Erickson seconded by Councilmember Kline that the matter of covering the wells be left to the Street Committee. Motion carried. Motion of councilmember Kline seconded by Councilmember erickson that the Chairman of the Street Committee name a day and have it well advertised for the collections of all tin cans and rubbish. Motion by COuncilmember Kline seconded by Councilmember Erickson that Chairman of the Street Committee investigate the cost of a road drag and report at next meeting.
