HomeMy WebLinkAbout1916-02-08 Regular MinutesTukwila Town Hall February 8, 1916 Council met in Regular Meeting and was called to order by Mayor Stevens. There were present: Councilmembers A.J. Erickson B.H. Kassner F.J. Klein Town Clerk W.M. Cross being absent F.J. Klein was appointed Clerk pro tempore. Mayor Stevens appointed J.B. Hennick as Councilmemeber office created by Councilmember elect J.C. Hagen place being declared vacant. Motion made by Kassner to accept appointee carried and J.B. Hemmick was sworn in by Judge Durbin signed the Oath of Office and took his seat in Council. Minutes of last Regular Meeting read and approved. Report of C.P. Jensen Treasurer read balances and recess $221.29 disbursements $90.51. Balance close of month $130.78 Report accept and filed. No reports from all Committees. recess there taken to allow Finance Committee to OK bills presented. Bills were as follows: Renton Lumber Company $26.44 Town Marshall salary $5.00 rope for Flag Pole 75 cents Filing fee for condemnation $4.00 Hall rent $2.00 Durbin for salary & Services $6.10 Statement for Light Service was not OK being so much larger than last month referred to Council. Town clerk was instructed to write PSE Railway (Puget Sound Electric) a letter asking for information about statement all other statements approved and ordered paid. Ordinance introduced at last Regular Meeting for raising of salary of Town clerk put up for its final passage. There was a discussion by councilmember Kassner Erickson and Hemmick against said ordinance and by motion of Kassner seconded by Erickson was defeated. On roll call unanimously statements councilmember Kassner made that Mr. Lutz donated flag pole to Town which was accepted. Motion made by Kassner to appoint Mr. Lutz custodian of flag. Carried unanimous. Weed ordinance intorduced after some discussion it was moved by Kassner to lay over until next Regular Meeting carried. Town marshall Stauffer requested. Council to furnish him with handcuffs and revolver. Motion made by Kassner for Clerk to draw warrant for Town money for same. Carried. Town Clerk was instructed to further communicate with PSE (Puget Sound Electric) Railway in regards to opening of Main Street to river and putting in of sewer under track. Being no further business to transaction. Motion of COuncilmember Erickson to adjourn was carried. F.J. Klein Town Clerk Pro Tempore
