HomeMy WebLinkAbout1915-02-17 Adjourned Minutes1Tukwila Washington February 17, 1915 Council met in adjourned session and was called to order by Mayor Stevens. Roll call showed the following Officers present: Mayor S.H. Stevens Councilmembers Eugene Sandahl E.E. Lutz and Ralph Ives. Councilmembers J.R. Walkup and W.H. Stewart being absent. Minutes of last meeting read and approved as read. Councilmember Sandahl reported that the ordinance being prepared granting the Right-of-Way for the new highway was not yet ready. and would be presented at next meeting. He made quite a lengthy address to the audience in which he stated he was and always had been for the new highway but he stood for the people that they must be paid for the land they had to give for the road. He stated that he wanted to go on record that he was in favor of paying for the land whatever it had cost the present owners. Councilmember Lutz presented an ordinance to repeal Ordinance No 39 and asking that the Regular Meeting night of the Council be the second Tuesday in each month instead of the second Wednesday. Councilmember Sandahl made a motion that the Clerk be instructed to write the Superintendent of Puget Sound Electric (PSE) thanking them for the prompt action they had taken in regards to installing a light at Black River and also ask to have the light put on the pole at the crossing. Motion carried. The Mayor read a communication from the Attorney General in regards to the loaning of money to the Town of Tukwila at an illegal rate of interest. The letter was ordered placed on file. No further business to come before the house the meeting stood adjourned to meet again in adjourned session Thursday evening February 25th. W.M.
