AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
CREATING TMC 14.04.125, CHARGE FOR SHUT -OFF NOTICES
FOR DELINQUENT WATER SERVICE BILLINGS.
WHEREAS, water customers who are sixty days or more in arrears are
riot charged for the cost of delivering shut -off notices, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to charge an appropriate amount for
this cost of service.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
A new section, TMC 14.04.125, shall be added to the Tukwila Municipal
code to read as follows:
TMC 14.04.125 Charge for Shut -Off Notices for Delinquent Water
Service Billings. When water service customers are sixty days in
arrears, a shut -off notice is prepared. There shall be a service
charge of ten dollars ($10.00) per month on water accounts for all
such notices. This charge will be applied first against any water or
sewer payments received prior to regular service charges being
credited.
